Incident Report for Customer Service
Resolved
Following the launch of .ovh, the host infrastructure has overloaded. We are currently adding 50 new servers to the cluster to try to handle the load.

Update(s):

The system now works without problem.
You can deposit 15000 domain names
in .ovh and we continue to register at the speed of 40 per minute. The largest peak
was 100 per minute.

The activation of all orders will
begin. You will be able to begin to play
with the domain name.

We have resumed taking orders. We apologize
for this morning's problem with the ordering
system.

For 9 months we have worked on the new ordering system.
There are still 3 to 6 months more to go before we can
ditch the old monolithic system that cannot meet our needs
and the number of orders per second.

We fixed a piece of code was making bad SQL requests.
At the same time, preparation for this DB to PostGreQL,
which is better for these types of requests, is under way.

We recoded 90% of the code to simplify
and integrate all checks. The order system is UP
but still having difficulties with 100 domains created a second!
We still have to rewrite an application and it shouldn't take long.

The problem originates from domain verification on
the infrastructure of the Registry. there is
limited to 100 res / min (!?) We must recode internally to accept all orders.

In about 30 minutes we will add the first 15
servers in the cluster (the time to syncronize the
system) and verify the configuration. And we try to hold the
load with 35 servers.

In any case, we will add 15 servers before noon.
