FS#7196 — UPS 1 RBX1
Incident Report for Network & Infrastructure
Resolved
The UPS has the charger default \"module load failed\"
It emptied its batteries, by-passed then it stopped.
We reactivated it and it rebooted properly...

The manufacturer will intervene to fix the problem.

During the UPS bypass, we lost ethernet communication with many reboot systems of room 2.
Integrated cards seem to be crashed. We will investigate about it.

Update(s):

Date: 2012-08-19 23:17:57 UTC
Thyristors has been replaced. The UPS went stable, but for up to 30 minutes.
The rectifier has been replaced. The same too. Here is the discovery:
The rectifier turbines have been crashed. We have them in the stock. It's replaced.
The UPS was stable for 1 hour. The technicians went for lunch. They'll be back within 2 hours to find out that it was still stable.
We've closed the task for now.

The manufacturer changed many cards without success, it seems that the thyristors are the cause.
Another technician is on the road from paris with the necessary pieces.

The intervention is expected at 20:00

The UPS is in by-pass.

Date: 2012-08-19 16:08:53 UTC
Phase 1 of the UPS is on 167V instead of 230V!
The manufacturer will not intervene before midnight.

This probably explains the failure on our reboot system that does not necessarily have 100-240V 50-60Hz power supply but more restrictive ranges.
Otherwise the servers are running smoothly thanks to the wide voltage range.
