Thereafter the network equipments' update in HG servers racks of the network 188.165.12/24 we had interesting logs showing an old problem on some servers happening sometimes on this network.
We're trying to fix it.
Date: Wednesday, 02 March 2011, 11:57AMWe're trying to fix it.
Reason for closing: Done
We found the origin of this problem.
We replaced the GLBP by the HSRP and the problem seems fixed.
The problem is that 2 routers managing the network 188.165.12/24 enables the GLBP (this is normal) but with the same MAC and without taking into account the neighbour!
router 1 # sh glbp
State is Active
Active is local
Standby is unknown
Group members:
XXXX.XXXX.XXX1 (XXX.XXX.XXX.XX1) local
There is 1 forwarder (1 active)
Forwarder 1
State is Active
MAC address is 0007.b400.0101 (default)
router 2 # sh glbp
State is Active
Active is local
Standby is unknown
Group members:
XXXX.XXXX.XXX2 (XXX.XXX.XXX.XX2) local
There is 1 forwarder (1 active)
Forwarder 1
State is Active
MAC address is 0007.b400.0101 (default)
The reboot of one out of 2 N5 has fixed the problem ... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GLBP works now on 2 routers.
this means that one out of 2 N5 which manages the double attach prevents the communication with its router.
I don't even know what to say
Whatever, bugs are the same!
We reboot and that would work!
State is Active
Active is local
Standby is 188.165.12.252, priority 100 (expires in 8.736 sec)
Group members:
0064.403a.f9c0 (188.165.12.253) local
aca0.160b.bdc0 (188.165.12.252) authenticated
There are 2 forwarders (1 active)
Forwarder 1
State is Active
MAC address is 0007.b400.0a01 (default)
Forwarder 2
State is Listen
MAC address is 0007.b400.0a02 (learnt)
There is an incompatibility between the GLBP on the 6500
(SXI5) and the FEX configuration in vPC (5.0.2.N2.1).
We move to HSRP.
And in HSRP it works which proves the bug between
the 2 technos: GLBP and VPC
Everything is fixed. Sorry again for the cut off.
